Artwork Description:
Anaam is a 90 year old Palestinian woman who was displaced in the Nakba in 1948. She still holds the key for her family’s home in her village. This drawing is based on a photo taken by photojournalist Belal Khaled of Anaam being forcefully displaced for the second time in her life. I don't know where Anaam is today. I think about her and hope for her safety as well as all of the families in Gaza everyday. Anaam is one of many Palesitnians who has a story of heartbreak and longing for home that myself and all Palestinians will always stand for.
