Palestine Lives! Campaign
Art for Palestine · A program of Create Humanity Inc.
Why we're sharing this
We believe that transparency is not just good practice — it is an act of care. The artists, poets, donors, partners, and community members who have trusted us with their work, their resources, and their stories deserve to know exactly how the funds raised through this campaign are managed and distributed.
This policy outlines how Create Humanity Inc. allocates and reports funds raised through the Palestine Lives! campaign. It reflects our commitment to honesty, equity, and accountability — not only to our legal obligations, but to the people and communities this work is rooted in.
Fundraising period
The official fundraising period for the Art for Palestine: Palestine Lives! campaign runs from:
June 1st – August 31st, 2026
All funds raised during this period will be carefully tracked and included in a final financial report, published on this website by September 30th, 2026.
Every contribution — whether through book sales, donations, the Brooklyn Lives! event, or the artwork auction — goes into a single pool that is allocated according to the commitments below. Nothing is hidden, and nothing is assumed.
How funds are allocated
We made specific commitments before this campaign launched — to our partners, to our artists, and to ourselves. These are not aspirational; they are binding. Here is exactly where the money goes:
Partner Contribution
Denizens Society — 10%
Ten percent of everything raised goes directly to Denizens Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting displaced Palestinian families in Cairo, Egypt. This commitment is fixed — it does not depend on how much we raise or whether we hit our goal. It is the first check we write.

Gaza-Based Contributors
We believe artists deserve to be compensated for sharing their work and stories with the world — especially those doing so under conditions of extraordinary hardship. Each of the 13 poets and artists living in Gaza who contributed to the Patterns of Return Anthology and the Palestine Lives! 3D Virtual Exhibition will receive a minimum honorarium of $50 USD.
If we reach our minimum fundraising goal of $10,000 USD, each Gaza-based contributor will also receive an additional 10% bonus on top of their honorarium.
Remaining Funds
After the allocations above are fulfilled, remaining funds will support the infrastructure that makes this work possible:
- Publishing and production costs for the Patterns of Return Poetry Anthology
- Digital exhibition and platform expenses for the 3D Virtual Exhibit
- Organizational operations as a volunteer-run nonprofit
- Future programming aligned with Create Humanity Inc.'s mission
When and how we'll report
We are not asking for trust without accountability. Within 30 days of the campaign closing, we will publish a detailed financial report on this website — and share it directly with every collaborator involved in this campaign.
Reporting timeline
The report will be published by September 30th, 2026 — 30 days after the close of the fundraising period.
Where to find it
The report will live on this page and will be sent directly to all artists, poets, partners, and collaborators associated with the campaign.
What the report will include
We want the report to be genuinely useful — not a summary that obscures more than it reveals. It will include:
- ✓ Total funds raised during the fundraising period
- ✓ A breakdown of revenue sources — book sales, donations, Brooklyn Lives! event contributions, and artwork auction proceeds
- ✓ Confirmation of the 10% allocation sent to Denizens Society
- ✓ A record of honoraria distributed to each Gaza-based artist and poet
- ✓ Confirmation of any bonus distributions if the $10,000 goal was met
- ✓ A summary of how remaining funds were allocated across organizational categories
Questions & accountability
If you have questions about how funds are being managed — or if something here doesn't sit right with you — we want to hear from you. Financial accountability is not a one-way broadcast. It is a relationship, and we take that seriously.
All collaborators associated with the campaign will receive the report directly. Anyone in our broader community is welcome to reach out:
Living document
This policy reflects where we are right now — and we expect it to grow with us. As our organization evolves, as relationships deepen, and as we learn from our community, we will update our practices to remain honest, equitable, and responsive. The most current version of this policy will always be available here.
Thank you for being part of this. Every purchase, every donation, every poem shared, every artist who trusted us — this work exists because of you. We don't take that lightly.
